What planet is a Teradek from?’you may ask.. It may sound like Star Trek gear, but Teradek is simply a standalone hardware encoder. This encoder allows you to easily stream without the need for a computer. The Teradek is a small box that you can mount on a camera or in a rack. This is great if you just need to stream and don’t have room for a full computer setup. Once set up, there is just one button to turn on and off the stream.
Pros:
- Small encoder
- Portable
- Mounts to camera or rack mount
- Runs off Ethernet or Wifi
Cons:
- Does not record (pro model does)
- Not designed for 24/7 use
- Turned off when not in use
The original Teradek Vidiu & Pro can only be found on sites like ebay or facebook market.
