ABOUT WIRECAST
- http://www.telestream.net/wirecast/
Stream Settings - VERY Important:
- H.264 (not VP6 or x.264)
- BASELINE (not MAIN)
- Key frame every 240
- Audio in AAC at 44,100 Hz
NOTE: If you are just looking to send us your live stream(s) directly from your camera or switcher; OBS is a simple, free, and effective alternative (more info). Wirecast brings a lot of additional functionality and production quality to your broadcast (multi-device switching, lower 3rds titling, etc...), if desired. However, Wirecast is not free, and a little more complicated.
IMPORTANT: For multi bit rate streaming, always arrange streams from highest bit rate (on top) to lowest, within your encoder (Wirecast).
MULTI-BITRATE STREAMING
This step only needs to be one once, we recommend you use the SAME Master Live Episode for every broadcast. You can then simply Publish to a new Episode (if you Archive your broadcasts following the event).
Up to 3 streams can be created for multi-bit streaming, if desired. Set the Video bit-rate, Audio bit-rate, and Resolution for each. As you create the stream(s) you will see the corresponding Wirecast Stream Name appear below. (This is what you will “copy & paste” into Wirecast > Broadcast Settings > Stream.)
REMINDER: For Adaptive multi-bitrate streaming, it is important that you order your Streams from High > Low with High on TOP of the list.
